Devil Worship | The Rise of Satanism 1989 VHS

Devil Worship is a tour-de-force of hysterical tomfoolery. My favorite moment is of the founder of Satanic offshoot group, Temple of Olympus. I don’t remember his name, but he is obese, dressed in blue robes, and sitting on a throne, which looks more like an easy chair with a maroon carpet draped over it. It becomes clear pretty quick that he created Temple of Olympus solely to convince young British girls to perform “lesbian dances“ in front of him by promising them magical powers. He is a delight! I also got a kick out of it when occult expert/former Satanist Beardy McWeirdy explains that his eventual involvement with the Church of Satan began with his love of science fiction. It’s a natural progression when you think about it: Sci-fi leads to feline mutilation which leads to the Black Mass which leads to the selling of your soul to the Devil himself.
