The expert LA outfit, who are often pegged as Anderson .Paak’s backup band, say that’s what inspired the sound of “Gangsta,“ their latest .Paak and his pal Rocky. When it came time for visuals, director François Rousselet, who has worked with Pharrell, Jack White, Snoop and the Stones, wanted to build a world with “the iconic toys from our childhood.“ Call it a rappers on Hot Wheels vibe.
