Belgian Dirty Workz boss Coone has teamed up with Smash the House Dutch maestros Bassjackers to bring together hard style and house in one humungous track. “Sound Barrier”, available from November the 16th, sees the best of both genres come together to form one of the biggest songs of the year. Loaded with towering drops, ethereal breakdowns and a series of thrilling twists and turns, the latest Smash the House release is one of the finest of the year. The tense vocals are provided by the rising GLDY LX, and form the spine of a track that explores both the heavy hitting rhythms of its hardstyle influences, but also finds space to expand on the melody and harmony synonymous with house music. Fluctuating between hellish, bass heavy percussion and mechanical, jittering synths, “Sound Barrier” is the perfect synergy between two disparate styles of electronic music, and expertly captures the most thrilling elements of each.
