Police clash with Venezuelan protesters against Maduro’s win

At least one person has died as security forces clashed with thousands of Venezuelans who flooded the streets overnight to protest against Nicolás Maduro’s declaration as the winner of the presidential election. In the capital, Caracas, the protests were met by dozens of police officers in riot gear blocking the march, and fighting broke out as the crowd moved towards the presidential palace. Security forces fired rubber bullets and tear gas to disperse the protesters, some of whom threw stones and other objects at officers.
