Adagio for Strings:
Is the most well known work of Samuel Barber (Born in Pennsylvania, USA, 1910), arranged for string orchestra from the second movement of his String Quartet, Op. 11, It was performed for the first time in 1938 in New York, USA.
66 years later (2004), Tijs Michiel Verwest (Born in Berda, Netherlands on 1969) known as Tiësto, remixed this masterpice in a Trance version for his album “Just be“, making Barber’s composition popular among new generations. In 2013, Mixmag named this as the second best dance track of all time.
