How to Make Tambour Sliding Cabinet Doors

A sliding tambour panel door is a flexible sliding door that is made from several individual slats called tambours. The slats are held together by gluing them to a piece of canvas. Tambour doors are most commonly used in roll top desks and kitchen appliance cabinets. Tambour doors slide in grooves or tracks that are cut in the cabinet sides. In this video, Rob Johnstone demonstrates how to cut the tambour slats using a router table, how to make the panel with hide glue and canvas, and how to install a set of tambour doors in a console cabinet.
