The True Story of Saint Finan of Lindisfarne | The Last Kingdom

A lot of you may know Finan from the last Kingdom. Here he is presented to us as in Irish warrior who fought alongside Uhtred of Bebbanburg during the 9th and 10th centuries AD. He was enslaved by a Danish slaver where he met Uhtred, after both of them escaped their captivity they became close companions and would fight together for the next several decades. Much like the real Uhtred who was born over a century after the events of the show, the real Finan was born over 200 years before the events of the Last Kingdom and was known as Finan of Lindisfarne.
