ZX Spectrum Longplay [145] Rex

Played by: Mad-Matt Spectrum 128k Rex was released in 1988by Martech games and developed by The Light. This has to be one of the most standout games for the spectrum right next to Myth. High resolution, colourful and well animated enemies. There is no music but the sound effects are great and really compliment the game. Amazingly the game works well on the 48k spectrum but there you only get some beeper explosion sounds. The game is split into two main parts which have to be loaded separately. You are given a code at the end of part 1 to continue your score and weapon progress in part2. In part 1 there are a couple of different routes you can take to the end. sometimes you need to shoot out a secret wall to progress. The route I have taken ensures that I get all the weapon unlocks. In part 2 the game gets more difficult as there is environment damage you can take. those purple weeds growing through the walls. I have constructed the video from 4 parts so you may want to use the below timestamps to find them in the video. 00:00:00 Training demo Mission: Review Orders 00:08:10 Mission 1: Infiltrate Underground Complex 00:24:25 Mission 2: Destroy Zenith Tower 00:37:25 Your Sinclair Preview Demo - Disclaimer: Most videos by World of Longplays use SaveStates!
