Israeli Security Policy in an Uncertain Middle East

From Morsi to al-Sisi, from Ahmadinejad to Rouhani, the Middle East is a region of rapid change and structural uncertainty. Still, some constants remain, such as Iran’s quest for nuclear capability and Hezbollah’s build-up of a long-range rocket force, both of which are decades-old. In this environment, a successful Israeli security policy must be nimble, creative, and willing to take calculated risks to advance national interests. To discuss Israel’s approach to the evolving challenges -- and opportunities -- it faces on every border, The Washington Institute is pleased to host Amos Gilad for its annual Zeev Schiff Lecure on Israeli national security.
