’’Roscosmos’’ Will start Manufacturing standard Satellites “Scythian“

Next year, the state corporation “Roscosmos“ will start manufacturing standard satellites “Scythian,“ which are intended to provide Russia with satellite internet and communication similar to foreign projects like Starlink and OneWeb. In addition, these satellites will be used for remote sensing of the Earth. “Roscosmos“ specified that they plan to start launching the spacecraft in 2026 and 2027—two units per rocket. The first “Scythian-D“ satellite under the “Sphere“ project was launched on October 22, 2022, from the Vostochny Cosmodrome. The complete constellation will consist of 12 “Scythian“ satellites. One satellite weighs 1750 kilograms, and its active service life will be 12 years.
