C/U Trigve Lie (aka Trygve Lie), Secretary General, addressing the assembly. He speaks of the emerging conflict of great powers and the danger to world peace. C/U French delegate Robert Schumann addressing the assembly. He speaks about uniting world into one big brotherhood. M/S Soviet delegate Andrei Vyshinsky addressing the assembly. He complains that the UN is interfering with the Soviet Union’s internal policies and that this will lead to war. M/S Dr. Herbert Evatt, Chairman of UNO and Australian Attorney General, makes final address to assembly. He thanks the delegates and France in particular for hosting the meeting.
