The new 2024 Maserati MC20 Cielo, the convertible version of the MC20, represents the brand’s return to the supercar arena. The open-top design adds a touch of glamour, enhancing its head-turning appeal. Sharing the same 3-liter ’Nettuno’ V6 engine as the coupe, the Cielo boasts 621 hp at 7,500rpm and 730Nm of torque, delivering an exhilarating performance. The eight-speed dual-clutch transmission by Tremec efficiently channels power to the rear wheels. The car’s acceleration, though slightly less aggressive than the coupe, benefits from a smoother turbo boost. The carbon-fiber chassis, while visually identical, undergoes modifications to compensate for the convertible configuration. Altered springs, re-tuned dampers, and an aluminum housing for the stowed roof contribute to maintaining the coupe’s agility. The electrically operated roof, raising or lowering in 12 seconds at speeds up to 49 km/h, adds versatility and sophistication. With the top down, the MC20 Cielo offers a comfortable and sensation-rich driving experience.
