SHOULD or SHOULDN’T for Giving Advice, Suggestions, and Opinions | English Modal Verbs
Learn how to use SHOULD or SHOULDN’T to give advice, suggestions, opinions and recommendations in English. Should is a modal verb, and modal verbs are followed by an infinitive (without to). Examples: You should eat more vegetables. You shouldn’t eat so much junk food.
Should is very common in English when we are giving advice to people and offering our opinion on what they should or shouldn’t do in a situation.
In this lesson, you’ll learn how to use should in affirmative sentences, negative sentences, and interrogative sentences (questions).
