La Traviata Balletto del Sud

Dedicated to Maria Callas and Iannis X The Ballet of the South, presents, on the occasion of the 100 years since the birth of Maria Callas, the show: La Traviata, Maria Callas il mito, with choreography by Fred Fr Franzutti to music by Giuseppe Verdi and Giuseppe Maria Callas, the legendary voice of melodrama, died in her Parisian apartment, at 36 Avenue George Mandel, on September 16, 1977, from causes not yet established between rumors of suicide, drastic weight loss and chronic insomnia, which had forced her to take increasingly massive doses of psychotropic drugs. The show proceeds imagining that, in the last dramatic moments of her life, la Divina superimposes, in a nightmare, her life to that of the character of Violetta Valer,, protagonist of La Traviata, one of the roles that most highlighted the popular success of the great artist, also thanks to the reruns of 1955 at the Teatro alla Scala directed by Luchino Visconti.
