No Cops For Five Days In NYC Neighborhood – What Happened?

There’s a policing experiment underway in the Brooklyn neighborhood of Brownsville, and the results are already surprising many people. As reported by the New York Times, for five days the NYPD took a step back and allowed Brownsville to essentially police itself, using residents, combined with the city’s social service personnel, to handle many of the conflicts and strained situations that would typically fall under the cops’ purview. Jimmy and Americans’ Comedian Kurt Metzger discuss whether this community-based approach is likely to succeed and catch on.
