Celebrating Chase Strangio | Laverne Cox

Last month, I had the honor and privilege of attending the 18th annual Gala in the Garden at the Hammer Museum to celebrate my dear friend, Chase Strangio. For those of you who don’t know this icon and one of TIME’s Most Influential People of 2020, Chase is one of the most active and visible leaders in transgender rights litigation and advocacy. He currently sits as the Deputy Director for Transgender Justice with the ACLU’s LGBTQ & HIV Project, and has been counsel in some of the most pivotal legal fights on behalf of transgender litigants.
