Iran Ancient Salt Men, Zanjan province مردان نمكي باستاني استان زنجان ايران

September 6, 2016 (Persian calendar 1395/6/16) Zanjan province (استان زنجان) Outside the city of Zanjan there is a salt mine where the bodies of 6 mine workers have been found. The salt properties of the nine naturally preserved the bodies, some dating as far back as 2,400 years. The discovery has been incredible to observe in local museums, but behind the scenes-research is done on the bodies to determine more about life at that time. Based on this research, amazing discoveries have been made about their diet, lifestyle, faith and the geography of the region. Overall the discoveries being together history and modern science to teach us more about ourselves.
