Government minister Mike Freer has said he will step down at the next general election after a series of death threats and an arson attack The MP for London’s Finchley and Golders Green seat joins TalkTV’s Julia Hartley-Brewer, explaining that the threats to his personal safety are “not fair” on his family. Mr Freer and his staff have decided to wear stab vests when attending scheduled public events in his constituency after learning that Ali Harbi Ali, who went on to kill Southend West MP Sir David Amess, had watched his Finchley office.
