“The Russians are Russians are Coming....“ For weeks prior to their indoor exhibition against Zenit of Leningrad, the Tampa Bay Rowdies pushed the game as an extension of the cold war. The Russians beat the Rowdies 8-7 at the Bayfront Center in St. Petersburg on March 9, 1977. I have no idea who the announcer was, but he was brutal.
