Put the Blame On Mame from “Gilda“ | Cover by Sophie Jacobs

Hello! Here is this weeks cover! It’s definitely a bit of an obscure one, but the song is phenomenal. From the 1941 classic Hollywood, film noir “Gilda“ with the fabulous Rita Hayworth. I combined the theatricality from the big band version of the song with the softness of the acoustic version, both in the film. I grew up watching and LOVING old movies/musicals and have always admired the old Hollywood style. (I even reference some of my favorite stars in my original song “Old Fashioned Gentleman“.) Ahh just so glamorous and elegant! So you know I had so much fun filming and recording this one. I hope you enjoy it!
