First Us Minister (1927)

Item title reads: “ First U. S. minister - To Irish free state. Imposing display as Mr. F. A. Sterling presents his credentials to the Governor-General “ Dublin, Ireland M/S long cavalcade of mounted soldiers walking slowly through a street of high buildings and shops with sun blinds. They are followed by motor cars and a tram car. Side view of two men in top hats sitting in the back of an open backed limousine as it passes the camera, pedestrians following on the pavement. Mounted soldiers followed by the motor car pass between military Guard of Honour. C/U of three men in top hats and one officer saluting. Men remove their hats as they pass a very neat line of soldiers with rifles. Shot of soldiers on horseback - some horses are restless. Mr. Sterling poses with others including Cosgrave, and is then seen with his wife and baby, as two other children play on the lawn in front of a large house, the Embassy, with Stars and Stripes flag flying above.
