Royal Marines Snow Training (1950-1959)

CU feet and ice axes. The First stage in digging a snow hole shelter (underground igloo): trench is dug and then the bottom is widened to form a cavern under the ice. Later stage in digging the snow hole: sloping entry made, slabs of snow are placed over as roof. A marine disappears into a snow hole. Another angle as marines go into snow hole.
