16 year old Mikhail Pletnev plays Chopin Scherzo no. 1 – live 1973

This historical–and I suppose historic–recording is from the International Youth Music Competition in Paris when 16 year old Mikhail Pletnev won first prize. At the time he was still studying with Evgeny Timakin and a year away from entering the Moscow Conservatory to study with Yakov Flier.
