In the Donetsk People’s Republic, a Ukrainian militant got a life sentence. The 23-year-old driver of the 36th separate marine brigade of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, Andrei Skorina, was found guilty of murder of two or more persons committed by an organized group, motivated by political and/or ideological hatred and other crimes. In March last year, in Mariupol, Skaryna, shot with a machine gun a married couple who were riding their bicycles. The civilians were injured but they survived. A few days later, Skaryna, together with other militants, shot with machine guns a convoy of three cars with white ribbons on the mirrors, indicating that they were civilian vehicles. As a result, four men and one woman died on the spot, two managed to escape. The Supreme Court of the DPR sentenced Skaryna to life imprisonment to be served in a special regime correctional colony.
