This year turned out as predicted with Cody Rhodes making his return to win the battle royal and Rhea Ripley outlasting all the other female superstars in the women’s match. The other matches on the night seemed to be less important than what happened after the three count. None moreso than the main event where Kevin Owens challenged Roman Reigns for the WWE Undisputed Universal Championship. However, it was the aftermath that served as a flashpoint in wrestling’s best storyline currently running between Sami Zayn and The Bloodline which was fantastic and made the night worth watching.
