Komm, süßes Kreuz - Matthäus Passion, JS Bach - Nederlands Kamerkoor

The bas aria Komm, süßes Kreuz is one of the highlights of Bach’s masterpiece, the St. Matthews Passion. Singing this great work by Bach is a tradition that we revisit each year in churches and concert halls. In the years that covid impacted so many lives around the world, we weren’t able to sing before an audience. Our project, the “Silent Passion“ was all about ensuring that music was made nevertheless. In one of four installments, Jasper Schweppe, bas with @NederlandsKamerkoor performs the aria Komm, süßes Kreuz, which depicts Jezus’ carrying the cross over the Via Dolorosa.
