Making a Juniper Mattress and Collecting Wild Beans (episode 08)

Today I take a break from making bricks to collect palo verde beans. The green pods contain tasty seeds that are a good source of protein. Then I address the issue of comfort and sleep by making a primitive but soft mattress to help me rest better at night. I have found that sometimes a shelter is less important for survival than getting a good night’s sleep.
