Granbelm’s Lead Characters Are (Not) Madoka and Homura

Granbelm is airing in Summer 2019, and as a dark magical girl show (though it’s not quite as OTT as a lot of that subgenre’s fare), the comparisons to Puella Magi Madoka Magica are running high. A lot of people have mentioned that Mangetsu and Shingetsu remind them of Madoka and Homura... but how similar are they, really?
