Tchaikovsky: Symphony No. 5 in E Minor, Op. 64 Cleveland Orchestra conducted by Artur Rodzinski Recorded December 13, 1939, and January 8, 1940, in Severance Hall, Cleveland, Ohio, on Columbia 78-rpm matrices XCO 25770 through XCO 25779. Issued around June 1940 as Columbia Masterworks set M-406 (records 11204-D through 11208-D), in “slide automatic“ sequence as set AM-406 (records 11209-D through 11213-D), and in “drop automatic“ sequence as set MM-406 (records 11214-D through 11218-D). In 1948, the recording was reissued as part of Columbia’s launch of LP, as ML-4052. Tchaikovsky’s Symphony No. 5 is in four movements: 1. Andante; Allegro con anima (at 1:53) 2. Andante cantabile (at 12:17) 3. Valse: Allegro moderato (at 24:06) 4.
