’See’

Here’s my new film. I’ve shared various clips and an early version but there is much more to see here. Films encompass much more of the full expression of what and how I create these days, a still image is easy to digest in a scrolling world but to instil more of the breadth and depth this is what I do now. I had some willow in the garden and on a whim I made this wheel after seeing its form during a wakeful dream. There was no plan or preparation just a sudden urge to try and turn it into reality. In September I started to shoot the sunset at the shore in my village. The sculpture was in an exhibition during the whole of November and either side of that month I would take it down to the beach to shoot the sunset around it. In total there were 30 days of shoots (so far, it is difficult to move on as this is now a ritual) and it turned into a fascinating personal exploration of an ever changing environment.
