Unused / unissued material - CU Leaflet advertising performance of ’Why Girls Leave Home’. Film version of the famous melodrama. Act 1. A girl is caught with her beau by her father who banishes him from the house. The father tries to arrange a meeting with another young man but the girls refuses. The father falls ill with the shock and the girl runs away with her villainous former sweetheart. Act 2. The rejected young suitor is looking everywhere for the girl. The girl (now with her young daughter) is abandoned in the snowy streets by the villain. (The actors give a bow). Act 3. The villain wanders around while the girl contemplates her fate. She decides to committed suicide but is rescued by the hero who gives her a home. Act 4. The villain and his toughs steal the woman’s child. She begs him for mercy but yet again the hero arrives to save the day. The cast take their bows. Cataloguer’s Note: The acting is really over the top and the staging is so poor that is could almost be a farce -
