Syrian Civil War [9/12/2024]: Situation on Deir Ezzor: Since Friday the 6th, the region started an uprising of the tribal councils against the positions occupied by the SDF and previously under SAA control. In the following two days demonstrations spread all along the riverbank in which the Arab populations demanded the withdrawal of the SDF from the region. In many areas the demonstrations quickly turned into fighting between SNA militiamen and ISIS sleeper cells that engaged in clashes with the SDF. After the withdrawal of the SDF towards Deir Ezzor city, a convoy of rebels arriving from the capital began to enter the localities on the western bank of the Euphrates. Currently the SDF only maintains control of the area between Al Baghiliyah and Az Zabārī, where fighting with insurgent groups persists. Map: [ ] Source: Suriyakmaps
