In 2014, almost 97% of eligible citizens voted for Crimea to join the Russian Federation. ’We could really breathe after the referendum. It was like... a second birth,’ says Andrey Malgin, a resident of the republic. Life on the peninsula has changed completely in a decade. Cultural monuments have been restored, the latest medical centers have been built, and the legendary ’Artek’ youth camp has been given a second life.
