NATO member states have turned Vilnius into a fortress, where the bloc’s summit is scheduled to take place between July 11-12. 1,000 additional troops have been deployed in the city, where 2,400 members in 48 delegations are set to attend the NATO summit. It is being held close to Russia and its ally Belarus’ borders. More batteries of the Patriot air defence systems have also been stationed by Germany in the Lithuanian capital.
