This is my cover of “Bind, Torture, Kill,“ the fourth track to Suffocation’s self-titled full length released through Relapse Records in 2006. I learned this by ear and played in one take. Enjoy! I love when my students ask me about guitar, metal, and all the extreme styles. When I show them bands like Suffocation, they don’t often demonstrate a liking or an understanding. I remember showing one student just the audio of one song, and he was in disbelief people could play that fast and brutal. Then we saw Terrance Hobbs and Mike Smith, he openly expressed surprise and joy. I love that Terrance and Mike are respected first and foremost for their foundational contributions to death metal.
