A powerful M5.6 earthquake rocks a city of more than 500,000 people in Colombia A earthquake hit around 5 km southeast of the city of Cartago in Colombia, with a population of around 134,000. It struck some 22 km southwest of Pereira, a city of around 467,000. Local media reported road closures and damage to homes. Colombian authorities have not yet issued any information on damage or casualties.
