Enlightenment Plans | Life Series AMV

The song I chose for the AMV is about a pyramid scheme, where the romantic promises made by an Instagram startup later give way to the illegitimate nature of the company. It is a cycle of trust, deception, and betrayal that continues to recruit more and more people as time goes on. I found this to be fitting for Desertduo in 3rd Life, considering that Grian found himself bound to Scar, a snake oil salesman with a charismatic wit and manner of action. Scar spends the season scamming their peers out of their shoes, loyalty, and later their lives, promising alliances and all sorts of treasures and trinkets. Without realizing how attached he’d become, Grian was fooled by Scar’s romantic promises, ultimately being betrayed in the same manner Scar betrays everyone; with a charming smile and a playful gesture. With it being Grian’s perspective looking back on 3rd Life, there’s a couple inconsistencies and missing/hidden details.
