Сombat work of 82-mm Podnos [Tray] mortar crews against the positions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the Kupyansk direction Military personnel of the reconnaissance unit of the West group of troops uncovered camouflaged temporary deployment points and positions of the Ukrainian Forces. Detection of enemy units was carried out using unmanned aerial vehicles. In this case, military personnel of the motorised rifle company of the battalion-tactical group of the Western Military District used 82-mm automatic mortars as a means of destroying and suppressing enemy strongholds and manpower. Mortar crews occupied positions equipped in the fortification plan and used the terrain to suppress enemy firing points. Reconnaissance is constantly transmitting new targets, and the mortar men, in turn, in the shortest possible time begin delivering fire strikes to identified points of temporary deployment of militants. Due to their dimensions and weight, the Tray mortars can be transported disassembled by crews of four servicemen. The maximum firing range of all available 82 mm mines is 6 km. Mortar crews literally have a matter of minutes to occupy a firing position, calculate the initial data for firing, and fire the first shot. The correctly chosen rate of fire allows you to conduct both harassing fire and keep several kilometres of the front in suspense with one calculation, and conduct targeted suppressive fire. Such tactics have shown their effectiveness and enable the mortar to remain unnoticed by enemy air and artillery reconnaissance. Thanks to the adjustment of fire by UAV units, high speed and accuracy of hitting targets is achieved. Skillful actions of personnel under the leadership of experienced commanders simultaneously ensure a high degree of destruction and safety for the personnel of the mortar unit.
