Greta Thunberg arrested as she blocks oil bosses outside London hotel

Greta Thunberg has been arrested as protesters blocked a London hotel where oil executives are holding a meeting. Pictures and video showed the climate activist being led away by police before she was put into a police van. Protesters could be heard shouting “thank you Greta” as she looked out and smiled from the vehicle. Organised by the group Fossil Free London, the protesters have attempted to block access to the InterContinental Hotel on Park Lane by sitting and standing on the pavement by the entrance. They also unfurled a banner on the side of the building. Executives have gathered there for the annual Energy Intelligence Forum, with speakers including the chief executives of Saudi Arabia’s Aramco and Norway’s Equinor and net zero minister Graham Stuart.
