Memorializing #66: Mark Donohue’s 1972 IndyCar Livery on a Senna GTR

Commanding one of Roger Penske’s McLaren M16Bs, Mark Donohue won the 1972 Indy 500 over the likes of Johnny Rutherford, Mario Andretti, and the Unser brothers. Almost half a century later, the legacy of Donohue’s drive into Victory Lane was imbued in the paint of a Senna GTR. The Sunoco livery with emblazoned number 66 pays homage to American racing history and the cunning driver who gave McLaren their first Indy 500 victory. RDS Automotive group recently had the opportunity to get this unique Senna GTR into our studio and interview Mark’s son, David, about his father and the memory of his ’72 win.
