It is a nice, beginner-friendly landscape that was so much fun to paint! Using the wet in wet method and really simplifying the scene to create the suggestions of the sunlit trees rather than the detail, and keeping the light in the stream and centered above it to create light and distance. This can take a bit of practice, but it is a wonderful way to loosen up, take the pressure off yourself and have fun! Materials: Millford 140lb/300gsm cold pressed watercolour paper, 11“ by 15“/28cms x 38cms. It is taped to my board and my board is at an angle of about 45 degrees, or flat, or I can tip and tilt it to get the water to flow.
