Mandarin Chinese Lesson: “I Want“ with Teacher Becky

Xiǎng 想 = “think“ but when used in a sentence can mean “want to“.
You can use the sentence structure: subject Xiǎng 想 to do something:
“Wǒ xiǎnɡ qù lǚxíng = I want to go travel.“
If you’d like to express that you don’t want to do something, you can simply add “bù 不“ before “xiǎng 想“. “Bù 不“, fourth tone means “not“.
“Wǒ bù xiǎng hē jiǔ( 我不想喝酒) I don’t want to drink alcohol“, as seen in the video lesson.
