Martín García García: Home Concert

February 19, 2022 – Spanish pianist Martín García García just landed in Madrid after a few crazy months for his success in Chopin Competition. He will be at home with his family for a couple of weeks taking advantage of his debut with Spanish National Orchestra. When Martín was preparing himself for Chopin Competition, a lot of people noticed that he warmed his fingers and his mind with Johann Sebastian Bach. This is not Martín’s extravagance, in fact, Fryderyck Chopin was a profound connoisseur of Bach’s work. To such an extent that, during the winter he spent in Mallorca, he took with him a copy of The Well-Tempered Clavier. The connections between Bach and Chopin are evident -especially by the influence of his silesian master Jósef Ksawery Elsner-, and Martín’s interpretation of the Polish genius is grounded in this very important aspect of his music.
