16 New African Countries to Adopt Swahili as a Formal Language

16 southern African countries in the Southern African Development Community have agreed to adopt Kiswahili as a formal language in the region. They now Join Tanzania, Burundi, DR Congo, Kenya, Mozambique, Rwanda, Somalia, South Africa, and Uganda. This now makes 24 African countries who now use Swahili as a formal language making Almost it Half of Africa.
