Building An Electric Motorcycle

Get the plans: In this video I build a custom electric motorbike from scratch. This bike is equivalent to a 100-150cc gas powered bike with a top speed of 120 km/h @ 72V and a range of 100 km. I’m upgrading the front/rear suspension, and the hydraulic brakes over the winter. I don’t feel the common components used on other e-bikes are suitable for the extra weight that this motorcycle is carrying in battery capacity (battery alone weighs 80 lbs). But it’s a very comfortable ride, regardless. Not like a typical e-bike. Total cost for the build as you see it was approx. $4K (CAD). The hub motor kit was ~$1K, the battery was ~$2K, and the suspension and fiberglass work was another $1K. The fiberglass fairings aren’t really necessary - a person could save a lot by making this a naked street bike with minimal plastic to hide the wiring. Other minor cosmetic details could be better as well, but that’s a matter of opinion/preference I think. Other than
