This In Our Time Reel 3 (1910-1929)

Reel 3. Policemen’s parade at the Review Field in Sefton Park. Lord Mayor inspects the policemen - very smart. The Mayor’s wife presents awards to the police. Sleeper coach - another Liverpool idea which didn’t catch on. L/S of an “Albatross Sleeping Car“ approaching then passing the camera. Stationary coach with passengers standing in front. Passengers leave the coach. Building behind has “Imperial Motorways“ and “Macshane’s Motors“ painted on the windows. Dr Bell and Mr Lenny (sp?) - two cyclists about to embark on a round the world trip shake hands with some of the crowd that surrounds them. Unveiling of a replica of the Peter Pan statue which stands in Kensington Gardens. Various actors dressed as characters from the Peter Pan book reveal the statue and prance around. The late George Audley (sp?) donated the statue. Some children dressed as bunny rabbits do a cute dance. Someone in a crocodile outfit shuffles around the base of the statue. Dignitaries arrive as Lord Derby opens
