With explanatory commentary by Charles Eade - Sports Editor, Sunday Express.“ Putney, London. M/S of the River Thames at Putney; Ted Phelps rows into view in a small boat and waves at the camera. He starts to row over towards us. Charles Eade meets him at the riverside and asks how he is, then asks Ted to “show us how it’s done“. Various shots of Ted rowing, some in slow motion, as Charles gives us more details about Ted and sculling. Ted’s brother, Eric, is seen rowing alongside him. Charles mentions that the problem with sculling is that there is no ’gate money’ (from spectators); he says Ted would probably make more money as an amateur in other sports.
