It exercises consecutive fingers in ascending and descending scale patterns and alternate fingers in an ascending motif. Legato bowing of two and three notes is explored, as well as short, staccato notes that can be used to exercise the basics of martelé bowing. This video includes a moving cursor on the musical score to help sight-read, play along and to help locate areas that need further practice.
