Livery Stable Blues - The Original Dixieland Jazz Band (1917)

The Original Dixieland Jazz band (who at first called them self The Original Dixieland Jass Band) created jazz music, and this was their first jazz song. Livery Stable Blues was written in 1917. The band, which lasted from 1916-1925, consists of five members. There is drummer Tony Sbarbaro, trombonist Edwin “Daddy“ Edwards, cornetist Dominick James “Nick“ LaRocca, clarinetist Larry Shields, and pianist Henry Ragas. The band will never be forgotten, for they created a whole new genre of music.
