It is the story of the only son of Don Alejandro who returns to 1820s California to fight the corrupt local military. He plays the foppish dandy by day and the masked swordsman Zorro who slashes “Z“s everywhere by night. His horses (black and white) are Tornado and Phantom. Based on the well-known Zorro character created by Johnston McCulley, the series premiered on October 10, 1957 on ABC. The final network broadcast was July 2, 1959.
